National liberation from neocolonial exploitation and oppression is a major issue at a time when the Palestinian and Kurdish people are facing genocide and brutal aggression by imperialist countries. Their liber- ation struggles deserve our full solidarity and practical support.
Many countries in Africa, Asia and South America are subjected to inten- sified neocolonial exploitation and oppression. However, there are im- portant changes that must be taken into account by the Marxist-Leninists for the strategy and tactics of national liberation.
In many neocolonially exploited and oppressed countries, capitalist rela- tions of production have emerged, there is an increasingly pronounced class division, and in a whole number of countries domestic monopolies have emerged. The bourgeoisie in these countries is intimately intertwined with imperialism. To describe them as comprador bourgeoisie is to underestimate this development.
The comprador bourgeoisie in semi-feudal and semi-colonial countries – these were the direct representatives of the imperialists at the time of the old colonialism, parasitic elements that mostly came from the merchant bourgeoisie. They were distinguished precisely by the fact that they did not have the character of monopolies. The bourgeoisie in the majority of neocolonially exploited and oppressed countries also pur- sues independent interests and follows a capitalist path.
The Assad regime in Syria is certainly not an ally in the anti-imperialist struggle just because it is in opposition to US imperialism. It terrorizes its own people, the oppressed masses of the Kurds and other minorities. It is in very close alliance with Russian imperialism, which has gained influence in the Middle East, the Sahel zone and in West Africa in recent years in particular through military aggression. Iran has now itself be- come an imperialist country with pronounced state-monopoly structures, imperialist aggression throughout the Middle East, and the terrorization of workers and broad masses of the people at home.
An anti-imperialist united front against fascism, world war and environmental catastrophe must by all means maintain its independence, ex- ploit the contradictions between the imperialists, but never become an appendage of new imperialist powers. A multipolar world has emerged, but it cannot be a strategic concept of a supposedly progressive “global South” under the leadership of the imperialist countries China, Russia and India, as is emerging with BRICS+ and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other alliances. This dangerous direction is currently be- ing propagated by the most diverse revisionist forces, many of which have openly adopted social-chauvinist positions. Of course, the inter-imperialist contradictions can be regarded and utilized as a strategic re- serve. In the opinion of the MLPD, the correct alliance slogan for the era of imperialism at the stage of the reorganization of international pro- duction is the slogan “Workers of all countries and all oppressed, unite!” The leading role must be played by the international industrial proletariat, which is present in the decisive centers of power in the in- ternational integrated production networks of the international monopolies and directly confronts international finance capital.
We fully agree with the statement in the draft of the CPP’s keynote speech: “Currently, US imperialism is the most belligerent of all imperi- alist powers.” In Germany, our main enemy is German imperialism, which is taking on a leading role in the EU and, in particular, is also building up its military. Today there are no completely independent countries. Even powerful imperialist countries are dependent on other imperialist countries. The election of Donald Trump marks a historical turning point, and the international revolutionary and working-class movement must agree on the conclusions to be drawn from this for the anti-imperialist and anti-fascist struggle.
Real national liberation can only succeed in unity with the struggle for social liberation. It can ultimately only be the result of the jointly advanced international socialist revolution and the overthrow of world imperialism.
